Post by: Colorado700R on May 08, 2008, 07:26:50 PM
For all your Power Commander 3 needs!!

http://www.krandall.com/

*DISCLAIMER* RaptorSource.com or any other people associated with RaptorSource cannot be held liable for a person/s using a wrong map on their quad and something happening.

There are many things that we cannot control, (Timing/Elevation/Gas type) When changing maps we ALWAYS suggest doing a plug chop after 15-20 mins of ride time on it.

Thanks for understanding!

I can't get any of these maps to open. I have even saved it to my desk top first and then still nothing. HELP! Also where do you think I would need to add fuel to the GYTR map since I am running a HC3 instead of the stage 2?

Instead of clicking on open when the download screen pops up, click on save.  Then you can open them from the open map menu with the program up and running. They won't open for me either from the download screen.

Grant, in the FCI thread is a comparison Dyno chart of the FCI to a Pro-design type intake.  I would look at the differences in the rpm ranges and add fuel along those lines to start.  because it seems the FCI is also a velocity stack style you might try taking a small amount of fuel out of a prodesign style map in the lower rpm's.

Just food for thought.

Aaron, thanks for the info, I will go look at that map and think about adding fuel where the FCI makes more power,  that IS food for thought.

I have been useing the map for Monster duals - (Trinity Intake kit
Airbox lid removed) although my set up is Monster duals velosity intake/large K&N filter/air box completely removed. The problem is that... the bike runs really strong at first (4-5 hrs) but loses performance after that. When i pull the plug it is black, which is showing that it is running to rich. I know you want the motor to run rich but i think this is a little much. Is there any suggestions?

Hello everyone, I am new on here and wanted to know if anyone can help me out with a pcIII map.  I currently have a stock bore, hc2, prodesign intake with k&n, protech lid, full hmf pipe. I am ditching the dobeck for the pwrcommader and I also have a dynatek programmable ignition on the way.  I haven't been able to find anything yet.
I also live where there is not a dyno closer than two states away, so best I can do is get it as close as possible and use the ol' butt dyno later.   Any help will be appreciated.

I will give that one a shot.  Thanks Krandall.  I have read about DL being able to program a custom curve into the Dynatek, and I am thinking about sending mine off to him to get it programmed, but I don't know where exactly to send it.  I would like to get it all done and then install everything at the same time.

I'm not 100% sure (more like.... 95% sure) that this is still his pricing:

Quote
its $30 shipped back......most bikes ive tested like near the same ignition curve from stock 4 mod to a 734 12.5 comp bike... so let me know your mods and future plans....

i set them up with 4 new curves so even if u change to a bigger build or need to reduce timing u still got that option....

Downloaded the GYTR map from Krandall, and thanks DL for the programming of my Dynatek.  I could tell a difference in the upper mid range right away, but not as much on the top as I expected.  The motor still sounds like it is working really hard in 5th when wide open in a sand wash.   Lugging.  I get alot of backfiring when I let off the throttle after rapping her all the way out in 3rd and 4th. I know the map isn't perfect, and I need to play with it some, any ideas?

Daniel, the map you have on there labeled "Monsters - Trinity Intake - K & N Filter - HC3 - +3 TB - Dynatek - No Lid"

Is that with your custom dynatek curve? Also, would there be much difference if someone was using Barkers instead of Monsters with that map if the other mods were identical?

Thanks

Krandall, I submitted a map to you about a year ago, but I still don't see it posted. Let me know if you want it and I'll send it again. It was dyno'd at sea level with the following mods:
Barkers, Pro-Flo w/k&n, HC Stage 2, +3 TB, Dynatek Ign. Curve 2

Im going to post up my dyno tune for my TBR pipe, hot cam stage 2, FMF header in a week. But I dint see any files up for a mod list like the one ill have when I get my 727 stuff from kenny.

+5 Hot Rod Crank
+2 valves
P&P head
RJ cam
Velocity intake
TBR pipe
FMF header
+3 TB
11:1 CP piston

I think that about covers it, do we have anything so I can get it running right after I install everything?

Nope, he doesnt have a map, he was going to use a PCV autotun instead. Anyone else have the same types of mods I posted above, any sort of map just to make sure she runs would be great!

 :help: :help:

still need a map with autotune.
no you dont
you can start from nothing but take longer i think.even if you had to you could grab one off dyno jet site and have it adjust from there

yes you do. Have to have somewhere to start that autotune can base from. (just doesn't have to be exact anymore) You even said it yourself silly.

I've already ran into one low hr 09 who's piston looked worse then a very high hr 06 because of getting hot from the customer trying to figure out the  AUTOTUNE   :jaw:

Shocking that a guy with a dyno doesn't like the autotune.  I'm no fan yet since I yet to see all the bugs worked out but once they are this will be a great mod for most people.

LOL,

the time it would take to teach most people how to properly use the autotune feature i could tune 2 bike

the problem with the autotune is it overcompensates for lean and rich spots in the map and causes a wave affect with very high and low numbers, its not smart enough to see its causing this condition

I'm going to try out my autotune over the summer, then make the drive to a dyno when he slows down and has time to do mine. I will share the results of how close the autotune does compared to a dyno tune. I'd really like to know how well it works.

Go to the 700 discussion section on page 2. Under my post new rims and tires/drag struts. and look at my last post. These video's will clearly show the autotune works perfect. watch the videos from top to bottom. I had no computer or anything with me. to make the autotune work right you need to run it hard for afew daysand let it do its thing. then accept the trims which will write it to the map. then unhook and remove the sensor and thats it. this info is right from jamie at fuelmoto who also owns a dyno and tunes everything. and he said these things tune perfect

So I do more lurking around here than anything else, but figured I'd try and see what's available.

I'm looking for a Map now that I've finally forked out some change for my '07.

Mods:
KDS CNC head +2 valves
RJ Cam
+3 Throttle Body
FCI intake
Stock bore/stroke
12.5 CP piston
Barker Duals
Dynatek Curve 2

I'd like to get something close and then have it fine tuned locally. Anyone wanna help out?

So I'm back to completely stock motor, stock airbox, lid on, foam filter.  Only thing left is Monster Pipes.  I ripped the power commander out, ran it for a couple hours, running too lean.  Put a "GYTR Full System Stock Box Lid On" map on the pciii, threw it in, and it's too rich.  Anyone have a good suggestion for a map for this setup?

Im not pulling my lid (i go through a lot of water and mud) or putting a K&N filter (ride in very dusty conditions), and I'm not putting any more money into mods.  I'm wondering if i should just scrap the exhaust and go back to stock...

Hey Dark, Welcome aboard!!!!

I think the closest map we'll have for you is this:

GYTR Full - GYTR Intake- 11:1 piston, HC stg2 (dl700)

the piston won't matter to much as it doens't change your Air/Fuel ratio. Not sure the differences between the 2 pipes. But it'll get you close to start at least.

Well Krandall I took the head and cylinder to a drag racing engine builder, Im talking about cars here. I asked him to do a light-medium port and polish for hill climbing and just playing around nothing serious. When I got it back it looked like it had been hogged out. It looks like he did a hell of a good job just more of a port job then I was looking for I think. I should have taken pics of it but I just got it put back together today. I dont know if this helps any krandall. I just burnt up a 104mm piston in 20 min from running it too lean, so I need to get a map. Or should I just take it straight to get it dynoed?

I'm thinking due to it not being a "known" port job. Your best bet may be to bring it some where. The differences in peoples porting designs can really change/affect a fuel map.

Hey Krandall how goes it? Breifly met u guys out at silver lk last yr tearin into your quad. Lookin for a map like everyone. 12.5-1 je piston, hotcam 3, no airbox w lg filter & gytr intk, , run w an outerware, full gytr system, & a self p&p job.  any close is great. thx Jeff

Oh yea! Remember you :)

How goes it?

Dont really have to much w/ that specific combo. The closest thing on file I have is:

GYTR Full - GYTR Intake- 11:1 piston, HC stg2 (dl700)

But I believe there's a decent increase between the stg2 and stg3. Plus this map has no p&p.

cool. ya know, i have learned more about maps on here than the other sights in just this thread. all the other forums have been "i need a map!'d" out and pretty much ignore any questions about the subject. does anyone have any advice for adjusting current maps for some fine tuning without a dyno? i have no access to a dyno. dynojet's website says there is one like 5 miles from me, but that shop has not been open for like 5 yrs, and the nearest one is like 200 miles away. so i'm left to just hoping that someone has something close that i can finetune on my own.

sparks x6 standard core w/ sparkie(not sure which end cap, i think its the standard one), pro design intake w/k&n, no lid, tech 11.5:1 piston, and hc2. i ride at mostly 1000-2000ft elevation. i may do the spark plug wire mod when i have it apart if that matters. i already dl'd 2 maps from your site. the gytr one with the same internal mods, and the barkers with the same internals, but a trinity intake. my internal parts are still in the mail so i can't see if they are even close. but i know that the gytr doesn't flow as well as the sparks so it will prob be a little lean, and reverse that for the barker map. i haven't seen a setup with a sparks, but alot of singles with the same internals. but no luck with getting replies for those maps.

i bought the pcv just in case i can't find a decent map so i could add the auto-tune if i had too tho.

yeah that was gonna be my next option. i just didn't want to ask him until i tried myself, since everyone and their brothers is telling everyone to ask him for maps.  thanks for your help though. i prob should have just got the autotune with it in the first place. lol.

There's some "mixed" reviews on the AutoTune, There's plenty of people who I've seen say they had good results. But I myself witnessed one guy who HAD an autotune, and gained somethin like 15 HP on a dyno.. And he isn't just some "shmuck" who doens't know what he's doing.
