Title: Chest Protector Opinion
Post by: Livingmylife93 on July 11, 2008, 09:28:00 PM
My mom is not going to let me ride the 700 once i get it until i get a chect protector

So these are the 2 im looking at.. Money is tight since im going to have to pay for the 700, so keep that in mind and dont just say the Shift one for no reaseon. Thanks  :)

I'm mostly looking for comfort, im not really worried about the safety of it, i dont want one. But i need to get it to shut my mom up. As ignorant as those last 2 sentences sounded its true. COMFORT COMFORT COMFORT not safety

The ARC one seems to have more happy consumers.

looks to me like the shift one would be more comfortable but the ARC has more protection IMO. I run a Fox prety similiar to the shift and I dont notice im wearing it, ever.

I too have the Fox Airframe chest protector. I am at the point where I don't feel comfortable riding without a chest protector and boots on.

I know money is tight but I would suggest the fox airframe.  Well worth it for me.

If you can wait when the '09 gear starts showing up on shelves, all the '08 gear will be reduced in price. You just have to keep your eyes open to find the good deals.

So it's been a few months, how do you like the ARC chest protecter?

Its ok, its pretty comfortable.

My only complaint is that it rides up on me sometimes.

I have wrecked in it once or twice, and a few rivets popped out, but it came with extras.
Nothing has really broken on it.

I would give it 4 stars overall. Cant beat it for the price.

I have a six six one also and it is a non issue when I have it on! I just wore it for 5 days and 700 miles with no problems.
