It is 6mm.  You need abot 8-10 inches of all-thread and a nut to use it as a puller.

cool. thanks alot. and how about honing the cylinder? i have heard diamond stone is a no, but a fine 3 bar honing tool is ok at a slow speed. this is my first nikasil rebuild so i guess i need a little more teaching than originally anticipated.

I just did my cam I found a long bolt 3" or so,to screw in to the shaft, put a cresent wrench on its shaft and gave it a tap the rocker shafts came out very easily

I have read that some use "Scotch brite" to break the glaze on the cyl...

It really depends on how the cylinder looks. Does it have any wear in the Nik?

if the cylinder looks good. carb cleaner and scotch pad. I personally wouldnt use any honing tool with a nikasil coated cylinder. JMO

well if dl said it, i'll stick with that. i'd believe him over jesus!  :wtf: yeah, i said it.  :satan:

but that was my plan if the nikasil is fine just hit it with the scotch brite and see what it looks like. i am hoping it isn't bad, since it has kinda low hrs. i've only put maybe 30 on it in since i bought it in feb of '09 (i know, not enough time with her)  and it was bought new in feb of '08 and sat for 5 months when dude ran his leg over and broke it. which is why i lucked out with a new set of nerfs.

not sure who got confused where, but..... we recommend using a 3 bar flat hone...available almost every automotive part store..

use some engine oil and a drill on low gear....most cylinders take about 15 seconds to get a nice fresh face on...
the scotch pad is about useless on the nikasil,
