Left Side Case gap
« on: May 11, 2010, 01:50:23 PM »
Hey everyone. I replaced the starter clutch on my 02 Raptor, upon completion and putting it all back togethor there is a small gap in the case cover mating up to the starter. I was wondering if this is going to present a problem ? Anyone else had this problem ?

Sounds almost like something inside is binding the case from closing all the way, but I do need a pic

I was getting a little bit of oil shooting out of there when I rode it. I took the case cover back off, and reinstalled.
It is not leaking oil or anything now, and seems to be closer to right. Still a small gap there, not sure if you can tell by the pics. and not sure if that is normal. I just dont want junk getting down in the gears.
Sorry the pics are not the greatest. It looks to be fine, but wanted any opinions on it. I havent looked at any other 660's to see if there is a space at all. Thanks

Are you talking about the gap between the starter and the case ?

Yes, I am talking about the gap between the startor and the case. It seems to be okay, and not leaking oil. Just wondering if it is normal or the gap or is the case warped or anything. Thanks everyone.
