Title: Last ride of 2011
Post by: daddyrat on December 06, 2011, 10:30:19 PM
Got my brothers and a buddy together for our annual ride after deer season last Saturday.  We also had Hefe and his buddy join us.  It was cold, it rained and sleeted at times. We still had a great time riding.  Hefe rode his YFZ 450 with the Raptor 700 motor in it.  It is awesome.

I was trying to the donut-into-wheelie move.... and I ended up doing the donut-into-fail move

come here in January and we can tear up those trails again
Unless the snow is too deep, ya never know

those trails ROCK!

Hefe, don't sweat it, you had a great ride and gave me an ending to the video.  I do wish that we both took part in riding that corner we took a break at.  Your buddy Jeff, really railed it and it was the best "clear" video of the day.  Too bad you were busy "taking a dump" out in the woods though...

That trail has groomed snow in the winter for the sledders.  Michigan snowmobilers are very protective of their trails.  You may get trouble from them riding quads on it.  Keyed truck, that kind of stuff...  Just mount  your studded tires and we can ride the lake this winter.

we could just mount up your Ski's and tell them we are just snowmobilles!

I will be out on that lake a couple times this year!

One of our photography clients from MI told me straight up to look out for a shotgun if I rode my quad on his trail. I was seriously only making friendly conversation... lol great vid as usual daddyrat

It was a blast !!!  Did you notice how smooth the trail was?  There wasn't one whoop the whole way.  The trail was just groomed with heavy equipment over the hunting season to knock down the whoops from the summer for the sleders.  That one corner we took a break at was like a flat track.

The trail is a legal ORV route that is used as a connector trail between other legal ORV loops.  I suppose it would still be legal to ride quads on it this winter, but you would be pissing people off, especially if you were trenching it.

I love making any trail into high speed trails. Around here I have problems coming onto headon traffic and litterly scare the piss out of the people infront of me. Are those trails empty enough to ride high speed and not have to worry about hitting people?

If I bring a crew of 3-4 would you guys want to show us around? I have a buddy who wants to get rid of his quad and has always wanted to head up there for some riding just like in those videos.

Sure I could show your group around sometime.  I can't guarantee no head on crash's but I can try to get the crash on video.     There is heavier traffic in the warmer months.

this ride was kind of a weird time..
Firearm deer season just ended, but not enough snow for the sleds yet..

I bet there is WAY more traffic in the summer
