Title: 4gunz4x4z Raptor Rebuild Thread!
Post by: preddy08 on July 15, 2011, 04:43:23 PM
Mike's bike just got dropped off the other day and I'm going to do a FULL rebuild on this tank! I plan on doing a full powder coating of the frame and misc parts. All the wear items will be replaced. Basicly make it better than new. Its been rode hard and put away wet.....many times. Its going to be quite a task, but I cant wait to see the turn out :woot:

It will be rebuilt with all the best parts, built strong, and built to ride......HARD! Every bolt getting locktite, every electrical plug getting greesed, everything lubed up and ready to roll!

I plan on doing picture updates as I go.

Here's how she arrived

Larm protection in numero uno priority!

If anyone has any SERIOUS recomendation on color combo's or parts to get please, lets hear them! Peelz will be happy to hear its staying true to the white and blue SE2 colors.

I've got something in mind, but would love hearing from everyone.

Clear cam cover, polished timing plugs (on stator cover), PC the frame a metallic blue...

and oh yeah fix the intake haha

Needs tranny rebuilt, head port matched, new style 54 and new plastic intake.... Should be headed to Racers Edge soon.

I'm thinking it needs:

The wishbone polished
Shorter swinger going from +4 to +2 stocker, Dpe-ele is already on it, not sure which color yet.
Hydrolic clutch
new levers
matching steal braided lines (all of them) maybe blue steal braided
New stabilizer, puck style
New shocks front and rear, open for suggestions. I've had Elkas, and Motowoz... Shawn says go Peps, I say why not.
new chain , sprockets
sprocket guard
going with a stock plastic bumper unless somebody comes up with something light
Grab bar
I already sent some fatpeg nerfs
I need a new/used subframe
New plastic
New graphics, going with a SE2 knock offs
Thinking about doing something with the flex bars, polished, powdercoated...
The seat is staying for sure, most comfortable seat Ive ever had
It needs some new hoses...blue or white
needs a temp gauge
new horn
smaller battery
replace all the LEDS, more is better
needs new head lights and HID's
led brake light
gas cap
I might need new topper and hood, but the blue se only, so if anybody knows where a set is, that would be awesome. New is over $500
Aluminum oil tank
replace radiator if it needs it

I want to stay true to the SE2 look, just give it that over the top look.
Blue, white, and chrome. Simple, yet a little on the blingy side... And ever part functional, I dont want shaws just because they look bling, I want fully functional shocks that Nasa would be happy with.

Blue radiator hoses...white would stain with mud too easily if you still plan on using it for "trails"

For lights I'm thinking something like this:
http://www.visionxusa.com/LED-Xmitter_Prime/c1_107/index.html

Stabilizer its gotta be a CCP. For the money they are really hard to beat! I'm gonna try to get some custom color/polishing.

Shocks are gonna be Elka compression, rebound and preload, with custom colors built specificaly by Wiigstyle.

Chain will be a EK 520MVXZ, blue of course. Sprockets sidewinder more than likely.

I'm in touch with All Out Throttle for a custom SE2 gunny edition

I'm going to need everyone to be on the lookout for a subframe, or gunnny should pony up for a new one. ~200 bucks

Aluminun oil tank PC'ed to mach. More than likely a CFM.

All new cables and brake lines, blue to match.

Some CV4 blue hoses.

I contacted a ebay seller to get a group buy going for some light weight small batterys. If you want one please PM me and I'll get it going.

Oh, and we need to do something about the wheels. The front offset wheels just wont cut it!

maybe a MSD to get rid of some of the clutter. I knew you had some issues with a dyna. They MSD should take care of it.
Title: Re: 4gunz4x4z Raptor Rebuild Thread!
Post by: Gunz on July 15, 2011, 11:50:55 PM
Yeah, just order some new wheels with a 2/3 offset and 22" tires. I was talking with troy and he said go MSD. That dynatek programmable is brand new, only 1 ride on it.

PC the stator/clutch/waterpump covers blue to match the frame...maybe see if you can get a clear cam cover backing anondized in blue.

-go with "terry cable" cables they r braided ss and simply the best cable ive ever had.
-look into the gpr3 stabilizer, you can get them anodized any color and i love the adjust on the fly, honestly i use it all the time
-ceramic coat the headers chrome, pc the cans white, actually i just happen to have some white cans not being used
-contact A.O.T and have a sweet custom gfx kit made up (i do have a few ideas in mind)
-blingstar "ultra lite" bumper
-blingstar dual sprocket  guard and rotor guard
-"fly" billet kill switch to replace the starter button, get rid of the gaudy controls and clean up the handle bars, move the key to the reverse location, add a seprate switch for lights
-renthal intelilever for the clutch lever with the hot start, hot start converted to the reverse control (like the dr. d reverse)
-once i get a light weight battery in my hands im going to come up with a custom mounting solution and wiring harness, stay tuned
-i also have a really cool idea for the hood, just need time to modify the one i have, so run with what you have till u see what i make  ;)

thats all i got for now  8)

-Blingstar Sprocket and rotor guards
-CC'd black headers and PC'd black cans. Also needs the matte black G force XC rims   http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/images/orprod/400/g/gfo_10_whe_xc_alu_whe_blk.jpg

-Ditch the bulky flexx bars and go with the bars of your choice and a set of precision clamps
-Precision stabilizer
-Lose the warning labels
-PC stem black or white
-Blue CV4 coolant lines
-Black Billet cam cover
-Poly case saver
-Fox evols or if your dead set on a spring PEP is probably the best out there just get custom PC'd springs because they usually have gay colors
-Black billet gas cap
-DD Lockout with ninja cover http://www.directdrivecnc.net/images/raptor_700_cover_black_ninja_008.jpg

-Black Pro armor sport grab bar or something simple instead of the bulky one now
-Black SS cables with Blue clamps
-OEM color blue frame with maybe matched bottom a-arms with white uppers.
-Black Swingarm
-Keep the blue ASVs

and, you need at least 10 more strings of LED's

leave the duct tape intake. Nobody else has that. Stay unique.

We talked about this for about 2 seconds and we both agree when it comes to shining up a motor, it's either all or nothing... I'll have John clean it all up, but it's staying stock in appearance.

I think the right accent pieces would set it off without having to PC the whole motor...but it is just a suggestion anyways haha

I'm going to try to convince you to get 4+1 wheels for two reasons. One, the further away from the centerline of the pivot point you get the more bump steer you'll have. Two, Ive found that quads that are over 50 inches wide jump weird because most quads are 50" and under and will create a rut in the jump face. When your over 50" wide your tires grab those ruts and try to run up either side and will through you funny. My buddy Josh (with the yfz) had his quad around 53" wide and hated it. He jumped down to 50" and jumping went back to normal.

Right now your bike is sitting at 52".

Here's a prime example. Travis's YFZR is right at 49" wide and Josh's YFZ is 53". Look at how weird it threw him.

Yea, now that I think about it a 2-3 wheel will put you right at 50". I was thinking your a-arms were wider for some reason.

I like the idea of:

Clear radiator hoses
Sprocket and rotor guard
Precision clamps
No warning labels
Poly case saver

-"fly" billet kill switch to replace the starter button, get rid of the gaudy controls and clean up the handle bars, move the key to the reverse location, add a seperate switch for lights

I think we should go with the LED light on the bars, I'd like to know how much light their 2x2" leds put out and maybe put them in the stock position.

Chrome chain, instead of blue, especially if the swinger is gonna be black(color still up in the air), Blue if its gonna be chrome.

Clear hoses that i've found so far.

With engine ice this will be a very cool effect. To one-up it, try adding an LED effect for night riding behind the hoses.

This particular wheel weighs in at 5.655 lbs per wheel, and is available in almost any color, size, and bolt pattern."

I/you need to get multiple shit from the same dealer so we can get some sort of price break. Depending on the price I like the idea of these OMF's above.

I'd like to send out a big "WTF" in regards to the intake tube.

The GPR IV stabilizer is good because it has remote adjustment on the handlebars.

A better battery would start the stroker with fewer tries. 24V kit or lightweight dual 12V

Anti-vibe stem, Mike is reasonably tall so +1/+2" for comfort

Send the cans to Barkers and get them anodized with a design, pretty ponies, rainbows...things like that.

Grind off the front bumper mounts and use a different front bracket design (Kawasaki maybe)

Gusset the frame, Mike likes to crash so it needs to stay in one piece.

2-3 rims? If your getting custom shocks  a rebuild i wouldnt cheap out and gain width with rims get some nice arms and 4/1s will probably ride Way better. Ive seen the clear hoses on the "shocker" turbo bike maybe ask where he got em.

PS 2-3 offset sucks

I bought a dual 24V Li-Ion GT Thunder kit. Super ultra start power. However it wont charge off the stator and has to slowly be trickle charged after each race. AND....dont get it wet or its over.

What about those Anti-gravity batteries that DL700 is pushing on MR?

Fundip, it already has brand new Houser +2.25 Lt's on it. The fronts are at 4/1 offset, I would like to go back to 3/2 offset which is the same as stock.

Chris, we are already going with the smaller battery not that over priced bullshit DL is pushing. It also has a brand new Lonestar +2+1 chrome antivibe stem.

Shawn the stabilizer has been blown since the last LS rally. It's now yours to do with at your choosing, party on.

You can send the stabilizer away to be rebuilt, is it a stick or a puck?

Good to hear about the stem and battery. Both the 24V's didnt cost as much as the Anti-gravity batteries DL is selling. But I know you were struggling to start and maintain idle on a cold engine, maybe that could be addressed?

Before this build, it's had 3 stems, 2 sets of nerfs, the motor has been built 3 times 12-15g's at least, 2 complete sets of shocks, 3 sets of arms, 5 swingers, 3 complete sets of dirt tires and 7 sets of paddles, 22-24 wheels, all the bling, 2 seats, 3 sets of headlights, 2 radiators, 4 cams, 2 heads, 6-8 rear sprockets, 3-4 front sprockets, 10 chains at least, 2 axles, 2 carries, wheel spacers, 3 TB's, 5 intakes, 4 batteries, 8 sets of grips, various risers to find the right height, countless lines, 2 bumpers, 3-4 grab bars, it's on its 4th exhaust (Barker loves me),and whatever else I can't think of.

the chrome ceramic is holding strong, however the powdercoating is not.  after only 2 rides its fairly scratched/chipped up.  i highly recommend doing it right, pull the can apart and ceramic coat the can as well. The ceramic coating that preddy has done is absolutely top notch

So far (that I know of) its getting port matched to the 54mm TB, tranny's coming out and being sent out, and hopefully some rings while they aare in there.

I really need one of those stands... :)

The stand is FOR SURE a back saver. It also makes moving the quad around in the garage really easy. If I remember right they are 150 at harbor freight.

I have garage envy, my garage isn' t as big as his

It sure is nice, they had to take 6" off the side to fit it on my lot :(

Gunny, we need to get the colors sorted out. I'd like to get everything to the PCer by the end of the week.

FYI chrome isnt going to be cheap. I got a quote for a harley swingarm for 300 bucks. There's alot more detail work in that so I dont think it would be toooo bad to get the sub frame, mid frame and swinger done and a few other misc parts done.

FYI, motor is headed for RE in the AM.

Thanks dpe_ele, I'm shipping out the core tomorrow.

Preddy, I think Candy Blue on the front frame and lower swing arms. Chrome on the sub frame, mid frame, upper arms, and whatever else you see fit. I'm at a loss on the swinger being a stock swinger, I don't know how well chrome would look, kinda leaning towards black or stock grayish color pc. Did you pick up a sub frame? What about the grab bar and bumper? I really loike that bumper with the led lights on it, and I like the Houser racing grab bar I saw a few days ago.(https://www.houser-racing.com/images/Grab-Bar-Page-Picture-Compare.jpg)

Title: Re: 4gunz4x4z Raptor Rebuild Thread!
Post by: Gunz on July 26, 2011, 07:46:13 PM
After seeing the front pic, either polish them, chrome them, or PC them white, black, or blue. Remember the sub frame and mid frame are going to be chrome, so depending on what you do for a grab bar will depend on what color the cans should be. If you chrome the grab bar then I say PC the cans blue. If the grab bar is going to be shitty dull color then make the cans a shitty dull color, If the grab bar is going to be candy blue or anodized blue then maybe the cans should be white. Either way we have alot of chrome on the rearend of the bike, mid frame, sub frame, pipes, and possible grab bar... break it up with the swinger and cans. Cans white, swinger blue?? Beats me, anybody else have any ideas?

I'm thinking the mid/sub frame need to be chrome, swinger blue, hubs white with blue/polished OMF wheels, full exhaust ceramic-chrome, cans polished, can straps PCed blue, blue heat shields and barker badge, get the houser grab bar blue, all swing arm acc. chrome.

I'm definitely starting to lighten up on the white, buuuuuuuuuuuuut and its a huge buuuuuuuuuut, as soon as white starts chipping it looks like shit and noticeably so. If you put white on her, I'll have to baby her a lil bit more then usual. It's your bike till you ship it back to me, figure it out.

What size sprockets? 14/36 (2.57) or 15/38 (2.53)? I don't know why, but the bigger set seems like it would have less stress. However the smaller (14/36) has a slight more grunt and ground clearance. 14/36????

15/36 (2.4) with your power, hell yeah.  If you want more ground clearance you can put a Honda sprocket hub on the axle & the gears go down to 34 I think.

Why not use one of the original colors, BLACK. Make the hubs and a few other parts black instead of white. You would have enough white with plastics and the black would look good with either the blue or the chrome. Plus the gloss black would not show dirt as bad as white.

Chrome chain, instead of blue, especially if the swinger is gonna be black.
Black swinger, I think the blue is gonna be a lil to much.
Title: Re: 4gunz4x4z Raptor Rebuild Thread!
Post by: tonto13 on July 27, 2011, 09:00:59 AM
I guess in my head I see using black to accent and hide things. Keeping the foucus on the center of the bike. You would stay looking at the wheels, frame and plastics. There is so much going on in the rear swinger section use sutle thing, like chain, brake line, bolts and a wicked rear shock to look at and draw the attention to the mechanical not how blinged out it is. Use the black to make other things stand out and more noticable.

whats are you running for tires? Size? You  ever ride dirt trails or strictly sand.  I've got less mods than you & pull 15/36 & its less shifting on the trails. Plenty of TQ to lug it down if needed.  The 36 aids on swinger clearance for sure

I've got one off triple buff bead to bead 8 paddle edges on 8x7 blue labels on sand. On dirt I run 22x9 GNCC's on stockers. I've played with gearing quite a bit and know that I would never ever run higher then a 15/38. I like torque and quick throttle response, high way gears are just that, highway gears. I'm an aggressive rider, sand, dirt, trails, or whatever and I need the grunt. Put me on the line next to a build exactly like mine except 14/36 on mine and 15/36 on the other, I'll win every time. I know this for a fact. One tooth could mean the difference of winning and losing. Example, Idaho Rally last year. Bikes Colorodo700 and mine. Thunder hill. I was running 14/36, pulled Aaron by over a bike and change. I wasted a sprocket and changed to a 15/38, I couldn't pull away from Aaron after that. That one iddy biddy change up cost me a bike length. I'll most likely go 14/36 and call it a day, less centrifugal force.

Preddy, you cant get the OMF in the colors we need except for the beadlocks... Soooooooo I was thinking, see what Steve can get 2 sets for.... I might buy the ones we need and a second set for the other bike... Especially if he can get a hella good deal going.

I will let Steve know were looking for 2 sets and see if he can cut me a deal. Spending that much on rims he better! It will be worth it, you will have the coolest wheels known to the ATV world!

What size sprockets? 14/36 (2.57) or 15/38 (2.53)? I don't know why, but the bigger set seems like it would have less stress. However the smaller (14/36) has a slight more grunt and ground clearance. 14/36????

Gunny

whats are you running for tires?

Thanks for the insight Gunny.  When I run 15/36 gears & 20" tires that would be the same as 14/36 & 22"s right? I may have to play with my gearing again.

Bert, you're rocking a 700 right? Go 22's next time around. Raptors are the biggest baddest duner out there and are made to push 22's. If Yamaha sold a "Dune Edition" 700r, you can't bet your dollar they would put 22's on it.

Copy on the 2 sets of complete beadlocks.  I will see what I can do.  Im not a high volume dealer so pricing kind of blows on my end.  The OMF are the cream of the crop on beadlocks and unfortunately so is their high pricing so this dumps a lot of our customers over to Hiper wheels instead.   Are you looking at the billet centers with the powdercoating just like in the picture?

Also what year is this raptor?

For Mikes bike(s) we want some of the 10" fronts and 8x7" rear with no beadlocks and the scallops with the billet centers. One set blue and one set pink. Stock offset.

So, what do you guys thing about these headlights? We'd run them with HIDS. The only problem is they are expensive and a little unproven around these parts.

??? ??? seems to me i recommended the blingstar ultralite bumper on page 2 of this thread  and i have that grab bar and quite like it, but all it is a nice thick grab bar, which if that is what you are after, will do just fine, i was amazed at the diameter of the grab bar, fit in my big hands nicely and is easy to grab and pull me out of a tight spot.

i think the graphics are ok, they need a little bit of flare.  personally id probably try to incorporate a smoking gun like a colt 45 revolver or something to that effect, i dont like the smoking skull in the blue.  just spice it up a bit and put some details that only the owner will see first off.  thats my 2 cents anyways, make it personal.

I dont understand this.... Is he claiming it's new tech? Because hasn't bo been oringing cylinders since like 07? ??? or maybe I'm misreading something.

The motor is at RE and we're letting them do what they think is best.

As far as the groove and Bo goes. Its a little different ball game. Bo does a simple oring that will smash into the gasket. Bob does a oring and cuts a groove for the oring to sit in.

I thought Bo was grooving both sides and using a rubber o-ring. This is a different spin on that using grooves on both sides and then installing a metal ring on the head portion. It clamps the gasket and forces it into the cylinder channel making a good seal. Same style as Bo I think, just a small change. Either way, im curious if either method will be done to Mike's beast.

Post by: Krandall on August 11, 2011, 08:30:52 AM
ah, so bo didn't cut a receiving groove onto the head. I know it was a steel o-ring he was using, so that makes sense. thx for clarrification.

I agree though, I'd think even if this wasn't necessary for whatever compression gunz is running, it's a huge safety net

I'll talk to John about it next time I talk to him. I did have a blown head gasket. Small hole, I didn't even notice it, but then again the last 2 times I rode I was having major intake problems, that could have been the culprit. John said it was really noticeable on the inside. I'm going to jump up in compression. From a 12:1 to a 14:1. I've been considering running methanol verses 110.... Methanol is $2/gallon cheaper here.

I've got a YFZR and a Raptor cylinder oringed from Bo and he does not use a recieving groove.

John told me he had a stock head-tb boot for you. He's gonna punch it out. The Crank got some weight added to it and the center pin replaced. Tranny will be back next week. Darren said all the dog-ears were rounded off. R&D is doing a procut to the tranny, next best thing to apple pie. You probably won't get the motor back until the end of August. I told him to throw a 14:1 in there, but he wasn't sure if they had a 106 14:1 piston.

You can have it made for 600-700. Both the reps from JE and CP contacted me and said they would do a single 106mm 14:1 for that price.

Looks like they did an awesome job with the powder.  I just hope all of the blue doesn't blend together...a few of those pieces would have looked great in chrome just to break it up some (brake stay, headlight brackets, exhaust tips, etc).  When you have that much of one color, sometimes it is hard to distinguish between the smaller different parts unless you are really close.  Just my opinion though, either way...it will still look great.

It was probably mentioned, but you are going with the factory color plastics, right?  White fenders, blue topper and hood?

Lang, the main reason I did so much blue on the back end is because there's so much billet between the brake rotor guard and the sprocket guard, and other misc parts.

I intended for the small ugly pieces to be the same color so they would blend in and kinda of "go away" I didnt want to add bling bling to a ugly ass fender bracket.

The front bumper is getting split up between chrome and blue. the more I look at it the rear grab bar needs to be white (my first choice and all my friends) or chrome

I was thinking the tips should be chrome, but Im thinking its too abrupt of a change in color. Cerami-chrome pipes to blue cans to chrome tip, with chrome hangers would be too much to me. I'm thinking the grab bar might be chrome.

What about the headlights?  I assume your plan eliminates the kill switch as well.

since he is running HID lights, he should be running a relay harness anyways.  simply find a switch that looks nice and integrate it somewhere to control the lights.  Who uses a kill switch  ??? i use the key myself

plenty of options to include his signature horn  ;) pricey yes, but when it completes a quad, what does it matter when you already have what im guessing to be 10k into the project  ???  8)

I would like to get rid of the stock control switch then I'd need some thing to run the headlights and so on. Honestly I think it would be best to keep it.

Is that a new carrier I see? How soft are the yellow rubbers, I like the compression to be super soft. What sprockets did you got with? I'll mail out the rubber piece that goes between the pinch bolts on the swinger.

i think you are just scared of wiring  :stir: please tell me what you need to run, i can help you through the wiring.  Honestly, the HID should be run with a relay anyways, once you do that hooking up a seperate switch is a piece of cake.

Are those Pro Bolts strong enough to hold the controls together?  Did you X the precision clamps? Double check the rear spocket, I've got a funny feeling its a 37 or 39, rather have the 15/38 combo.

They seem strong enough. I've got alot of threads in, but we'll see. The PCing on the handle bars makes everything fit a bit snugger, so I dont think they are going anywhere.

You really want 15/38? That pretty much back to stock. ???

Keep the ebrake, I asked Tonto if he would move the other one to the same spot. I'm a fan of them...

The hood is just going to have to work, I'll figure something out later if it is just to far off. Maybe a custom one off candy blue carbon fiber hood and topper.

Just a suggestion, and either way I think would look good, but since the plastics are pink, I think it'd look sweet if the fender graphics were white or black instead of pink to make them stand out a bit more (similar to how gunny's frame is blue, and the plastic graphics are blue).

just a suggestion. Either way it's gonna look kickass!

Still no thoughts on a ebay radiator? This one says its from China, but there's plent of places that sell the exact raidator from the US. I think I might try one of these out on my bike.

As long as the plastics don't get cut, I guess it doesn't matter. From china, you're asking for a 30 day delivery time.

Funners ordered a china battery and it got here in like 4 days.

They have the same type of radiator but from texas for 150.

No radiator, just attach the two lines together with an inline cooler and be done with it.

Run it on Alcohol/Methanol

That would most likely require twin injectors and a dual fi controller setup.

Probably more pain than its worth unless your going full drag.

why not a new coolant overflow bottle? and have you looked at any of the guards for them for extra flair?

And no custom warning labels?

I'd like to get a new coolant overflow bottle, but when you start buying stuff like that where do you stop? Its kinda hard to draw a line.

To me I think the OEM warning lables look 10 times better than some of that cheap shit you see on ebay. I HATE the aluminum plates people cut.

Sometimes less is more 8)

Looks outstanding Preddy, but as much as I hate to I agree with Pat that tank needs replaced, and your right where does it stop on replacing stuff, also possible one other suggestion paint the brake calipers. Again looks great can wait to see it at LS.

I think this was never intended to be a show atv. You're on the edge now, between so pretty you dont want to hurt it and shined up, ready for more abuse. Honestly, aside from the chrome parts, this looks like a well rebuilt atv, ready to kick the crap out of which is right up Gunny's alley. Also I think that is what he wanted in the first place.

Either way, bringing it out into the sunlight really gave me some perspective. Its gorgeous. I hope Mike puts out for this

The warning labels look fine.... I rather have the stock labels vs the aftermarket aluminum. I think they look tacky. Bleach that coolant overflow, it'll look like new. Just cap the end and fill it up with water and bleach. The intentions of this bike was to freshen up a 4 year old bike that has been ridden hard and put up wet way to many times. It was showing some serious wear, inside and out. The tranny needed rebuilt, the subframe was tore up, I needed a new swinger, half the cables were trashed, the paint and plastics were trashed. This is not intended to be a show bike. never was and still isn't. Preddy was given instructions to totally disassemble the bike and build it back up. Replace any worn parts and go with candy blue and chrome ,staying with the SE2 theme.

This is amazing quad to see lined up with all the others at LS. I didn't really like the front bumper at first, but it is eye-catching and draws you into the entire build. I love the accents and coloring. What a beauty!

Took the bike to the track today.... FREAK"N loved the bike and the way it handled. The motor still has a shitty gasket leak from Racers Edge, but other then that she was tight. I aired her out a couple of dozen times and she held together. One of the heat sheilds vibrated off, but thats to be expected. Hitting up Little Sahara next weekend.

PS the horn sucks ass and it doesn't glow at night....

Mike, could you please report back with some reviews of the parts we hung your your bike? Other than the motor build

Also, please let me know what going on with the suspension. I really wanted to spend a hour or so with you out on the dunes getting the suspension dialed in, but with the rally being so hectic I didnt get a chance.

Give a FULL review if you could! Weather it be on the motor, suspension or the work done on my part. I want to hear a complete and total honest review on your part.

Known fact, I've got over 70hp... so I've been rocking a +4 swinger. I had dpe_ele build me a +2 swinger, one of the best mods ever. By going from a +4 to +2 I've gained some cornering back. Also by going with a cast aluminum swinger vs an aftermarket I dropped a noticeable amount of weight. A modified stock swinger FTMFW win! I've broke several and there is no way in hell I will ever by an aftermarket swinger again. Dpe_ele made me a superior product, props to him.

I love my chrome frame and my bad ass 1 off Elkas that were built by Wiig. I think Wiigstyle racing is awesome and I will send every set of shocks I ever buy to him to have built to my specs. They handle soooo well. Whoops at wide open throttle, tight trails without picking up the corners, Nice high jumps with plush landings. You name it, my Elkas are sweet. Am I brand loyal, nope... Will I buy elkas again, who knows, what I do know is that wiig built them perfect.

Mike, I'm tickled pink that the shocks are doing so well. I took a chance and had Wiigy do some really difficult work to those shocks (99% of companys will not touch that type of work) and it paid off. The color combo is freeking sweet and from the short time I've spent on them I'm also very happy with them. I honestly think that you can buy any shocks out there and have them valved by Josh like that and the will perform similar. The reason I went with Elka is Josh knows the people there and they will do anything for him.

Also the ease of adjustment is second to none. Every other shock manufacture out there you need tools to adjust the compression. With the Elkas its a simple twist of a knob and your done. Who out there wants to break out a set of tools out on the trail. When I ride different places I always end up forgeting to set the shocks per the riding terrain. With the elkas just lean over the bike and adjust it while riding.

I think he is just referring to the coloring of the pieces from red to blue

The color change, the valving to my specs(rider weight, style, class), and the 100%teardown and rebuild from new to custom.

Mike's bike just got dropped off the other day and I'm going to do a FULL rebuild on this tank! I plan on doing a full powder coating of the frame and misc parts. All the wear items will be replaced. Basicly make it better than new led tubes (http://www.niceledlights.com/category/led-lights/led-tube/) .
