+2 and rear link flipped question
« on: November 17, 2008, 02:32:13 PM »
so i got a +2 swinger on and with my rear link flipped, it sits really low now, so much that i bottom out pretty easy. i really like how it squats when i drag race so i'm thinking i just need to adjust the spring or do i need to adjust the compression to?

you could try cranking the preload all the way down so it stiffens up the spring but that's about all you're going to be able to do.

Adjust the spring and firm up the compression a bit.

When i bought my quad used the rear link was flipped. It was the worst thing that can be done to a trail ridden raptor. The suspension loses travel you can only get 8-8 1/2 of ride height in the rear with it flipped and that was with the preload cranked all the way.And i still smacked everything. Im glad i flipped it back.

do you jump alot jamie? if you didn't jump would you have kept it fliped? Did it make the ride unconfortable?

i loved mine flipped with the stock swinger but with the extended one i guess i am getting more leverage on it and putting more of a load on it.

No i really don't jump a whole lot. Just trail riding it sucked, not enough travel. The quad sat like a boat.  And got even worse with me on it. To me it ruins the suspension geometry of the raptor. It might be good for flat track but thats about it IMO.

Do you think it helps you launch when drag racing?

+1     ???   I am waiting to get my +4 and pondering on flipping the link when it goes back together.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
