Went to a local area to ride around the TX/OK border, and fortunately the Red River that separates the 2 states is slowly drying up. Which left a large sand bar area to play in. So a teenager waves me down and wants to run. So we line up and take off.
He get's dragged hard. He wants to go again, same results. And for the third time, wants to go one more. This time, I get my shifting down perfect, and he get's smoked like a peace pipe.
He catches up and I ask if that's a 350? He says no it's a 450. So I think WTF? ???
He weighed maybe 150pds, running paddles. I'm 240 with the Big 3 on my 700R.
I know 450's are fast, but either his bike was running like complete shit or he was bs me that it was a 450. Either way, I enjoyed it. :grin_nod:

It was a Yam. His jetting had to be off. My 700R is no slouch, but I weighed almost 100 more pounds than he did, I just didn't expect him to get dragged 10 bike lengths back. :confused: Oh well, another day.

Nah, not me. My ass has been handed to me several times by my buddies Honda 450 that put down around 63hp on the dyno. He goes through clutches like I go through beer!! Fine by me!!

That's like last year @ silver lake, there was a kid I'd say 85-90lbs wet. Running a Honda 450 @ the drag strip. Not quite stock by any means, but he was waxing EVERYBODY there!!!!
It sucks to lose. But, it's good to lose once in a while. gives you that drive to spend more!

stock '04 Honda 450 with a novice rider(little guy) vs Raptor w/ 3 mods & Kenny's +2TB & A/F map fresh off Ticeman's dyno. The added weight of the Raptor & rider made that Honda shine. I had a 13T & left in 3rd with wheelspin :lol:

You should have smoked that 450. Im not to sure why you didnt but that shouldnt happen by any means. I was smoking 450 with the big 3 all day. Hell SMIB from RF raced a 450r that had some work done to it (HRC KIT??) and smoked his ass bone stock by 32-3 lengths. WOODY
PS what kind of HP were you putting down.

He should have smoked it. The power was there on the Rappy but Bert did not change his gearing and that is the only reason it was close. There was no reason for running a 13 tooth in the front that day. The problem was Bert brought his quad down from Minnesota and it was still set up for Ice racing. I rode both machines that day and the power on the Rappy was great and not so much for the 450r it just ran out of gear way to fast even at 300ft. Even know Bert is 265lbs and my nephew is 125lbs there was no excuse that day. :thumbs:
