hey raptorrandy what is that little k&n filter for?

Sorry guys......I just saw your questions. The little filter is on the end of the crankcase vent tube....In my case I have a KDS evac valve on the end of the breather tube as well. Technically it doesn't need a filter, but I only ride my 700R in the dunes, and there's lots of blowing sand so I didn't want to take any chances of sand getting into the evac valve when the bike was sitting with it's tail to the wind.

Randy

I have one at the end of my KDS camcover valve too  8)

Cool....so your running two evac valves ?

I'm going the poor mans route and getting a  rhino cam cover that has a breather. about 20.00 for the cover and breather vent

no sir, just one camcover model.  i would think two would work against each other ???

RaptorRandy

I think they would work in concert with each other, like one way valves in the collectors in a pan evac system like we ran on drag cars.

Hey Colorado
How are you liking your new set up?

Colorado700R

haven't had a chance to really ride it much yet, all the nice weather has been during the work week  :'(

Colorado700R

Got to finally try out the new airbox setup out on the trails and some drags  :grin_nod:

BAM!!!  I'm only 1/2-3/4 of a quad length behind my buddies three mod KFX 450 in a 300ft consistantly.  I was 1- 1 1/2 quad lengths behind before this mod.

Throttle response is great, especially in trail gears (2-3-4th).

Couldn't be happier with the performance improvement from a free mod.

Checked my air filter (Extreme dust conditions out there yesterday), my K&N was actually cleaner than it was with the complete airbox

Glad to hear it went well!!!

Is this increase more so than w/ the air box lid off?

Feels similar, perhaps a touch more......it's been awhile since then

Call up Outerware... they'll make one for it.

i noticed this awhile back with my 450. especially at the dunes with a foam filter. sand gets into the box, and sits at the base. the filter inhales it all day. my airbox would be spotless under the filter, but the underside of the filter was hammered with sand.

im doing similar with my raptor. except cutting off the bottom where the debris rest so they just fall out the bottom.

Colorado700R

I believe he has either the Pro-Design or a GYTR adapter ???

wuevo15

here's my deal.  i made this mod on my air box and put an HMF slip on pipe on a raptor 700.  i can't find a map for this and its beginning to be a pain in my ass.  there isnt a map on raptor source they are all for full exhaust.  if you guys have any ideas or maps shoot em my way please.
