15 tooth front sprocket
« on: May 10, 2008, 09:03:03 PM »
The 15 tooth front sprocket is probably the cheapest mod available for the 700, and one that makes a noticeable diffrence on the trails.  The stock raptor has a mountain of torque, and cannot apply it in the first two gears becuase of the exessesive wheel spin.  The 15T applys that power to usable torque and speed on the trails.

The 15T is ~$20 mod, well worth the money for trails.

yes IMO that way first gear is not a complete waist and second could be used a lot further.

Unless you got some serious mods on that badboy, run your 14T in the sand.

Sandstars don't rob as much HP as straight paddles usually, but I would just take the sprocket along to try.  It's a 15 min swap even in the sand

No kidding, just make sure when you change out that sprocket you don't break the spacer on the inside of the nut. I used an air impact and I guess I shouldn't have and tore that baby in half. It was hard to find, but for some reason ACE Hardware had the exact one lol.. .56 Cents. Dealership wanted 24.99

I have nothing bad to say about upgrading to a 15T.  It highly noticeable.  The difference between night and day.  IMO
