Adjusting Valves?

I'm starting to get a slight *tick* on the top end of my motor. Assuming it's the valves needing to be adjusted since I just had it rebuilt by Bo.  I'm wondering, is it a fairly quick process?

Tick is usually valve lash.  Follow the step by step instructions in your files (PDF I sent you).  Make sure you adjust for what your cam manufactorer reccomends.

The tick is common. A slight adjustment might be in order. The exhaust valve tends to stick on the 660's as time builds between adjustments if memory serves me correctly.

And what is valve lash? To much of a gap between the rocker and the tip of the valve?

Valve lash describes the clearance  or space between the bottom of the valve stem and the top of the lifter stem.

its a simple process krandall, i did mine in about 1.5 hours the first time and after that is was a hour flat. a little tick you can deal with. mine did it from day one

Gas tank and plastics off, can't get to the Intakes otherwise.

Just an FYI, the *tick* is not a bad thing.  Generally speaking valves do not loosen up.  In fact, they tighten up on their own (again, generally speaking).  Once they start to get tight the *ticking* goes away.  Because they are getting tighter, this puts undue load, friction, and stress on the rest of the components.  This in turn, robs you of horsepower and in general causes more wear and tear.  If you can hear the *tick*, you're probably better of than when you can't hear the *tick*.

I adjust mine almost every 5-10 rides
