question about wolverine jetting.
« on: June 08, 2008, 08:52:51 PM »
i'm thinking that if i want a aftermarket airbox for my wolverine that will have to make it myself. so if i do this i might as well go all out i figure right?

i'm thinking that if i do make one that i will just use a trinity filter adapter for a 700R raptor. like the one i have on my raptor.

my question is what kind of jetting should i use? dynojet makes i think 3 different kit for the wolverine and i'm not sure which one to use.

or is this just a really bad idea. because i really don't want to mess up my wolverine.

i would just order mikuni jets from a local shop, just going a couple of sizes up, find which one works best and sell the others.

i am currently using a dynojet kit in my YFZ and ive gotta say it is the biggest pain in the ass to fine tune, its unbelievable. ive tried the settings that come with the kit, settings my exhaust mfg. gave to me. couldnt get a single one to work.

just tryin to save another person from spending $50 on that damn thing.

What type of mods are you running (exhast, etc)? Do you know your elevation?

don't think I'd go crazy on the airbox, just new filter, outerwares and drill holes in the lid after the exhaust is on, maybe. That will add a bunch of top end.  How is she liking that wolvy warren?

If you can make an airbox that has a real mount for the air filter let me know how you do it.  I swear the only thing that keeps the air filter in place in the stock airbox are hopes and crossed fingers.

~Brian

i'm planning on running a HMF slip on. and i'd like to find an airbox that will actually allow the airfilter to mount to it. with a K&N filter and outerwear. and i plan on running some jets but i don't know which yet. proabably just the ones that come with the HMF pipe. and i live in central IL whatever evalation that is.

If you can make an airbox that has a real mount for the air filter let me know how you do it.  I swear the only thing that keeps the air filter in place in the stock airbox are hopes and crossed fingers.

i know i hate the stock design it's completely stupid if you ask me. it's like yamaha just ran out of time and said "FERK it just throw it in there it will stay put"

but if i do make one i will let you know.
