Title: LED light bar and a battery pack
Post by: disco on September 23, 2013, 10:26:32 AM
Not really off topic but this should have the most traffic.

Anybody running a LED lightbar?  I'm debating getting a Rigid 6" light bar, single row LED.  I've heard HIDs throw light farther but I'm looking for low amp draw to run off a battery pack.  Run one pack, recharge one.  Switch out when I refuel.

that seems like alot of work.

and the weight of an extra battery...... meh. it would have to be a decent sized one to get any amount of time Id think, could be wrong...just wire that bitch on there

I was going to use a RC type battery pack, 10000 mAh.  It would go on an AC only quad (Banshee) but I decided to take my time and get a DC stator for it and a tiny sealed battery.  Then I can put decent lights on it and not worry about running out of battery power.  The rc batteries are $80 each and I would need at least two.  Then I have to run a smaller light.  Not worth it.

Well, he'd need good lights & battery life, so he can see what he's doing while fixing it.
After all, it's a banshee right?
