The R6 and the GSXR are both fine machines.

Have you had the chance to ride a sportbike lately? Crazy fast.

You cant go wrong with either one of those bikes.  I used to have a honda cbr 600 and love it.  I really like the GSX's but the R6 is a really nice bike.  good luck and have fun

I'm 6'2'' and I've rode both bikes. Not too bad getting around town, but if I were on one for long periods of time I would be a little cramped. If I were to get another, I would go with a 750 or 1000 due to my size.

A 600 would be a great starter bike, but they are just as fast as a 750. The 750's seem to be a little more comfortable to me, and the 1000 cc class bike just scare the sh*t out of me.

Technically the modern 600 is too much for a beginner.  I like the GSXR 750 though

A 600 cc bike will bust 150-160 mph (247-257 kph) no problem.

A 600 will pull just as hard as a 750 on the throttle. There isn't much difference between the two. A 750 will power up through three gears no problem. The 600/750 class bikes handle a little better in my opinion. I can toss one of those in and out of a corner easier than a larger bike. I definitely recommend riding a 600. If you have a friend that owns one and he/she trusts you, take it for a spin.
