LED/FIBER OPTIC WHIPS
« on: October 27, 2009, 08:47:01 PM »
Alright, heres what I know, the triblewhips.com is where I've bought all my led whips. My wife rolled over hers and didn't break it. Mine on the other hand, the first won leaked out because of poor designe. The second one I broke this past weekend at the rally. that was because of hitting branches in the trails. They are very bright, but they do have issues. I will say they did replace mine. he was a little upset saying theres no reason for it to break. So on that, I contacted safeglow they have led poles that have twice the lights and are thicker poles. they also have a fiber optic pole, that the guy said they have never had one brought back. the whips are about $80-120. I tried to load a pic of mine. but the guy at safeglow said they have led's that will blow trible whips away for same price. he also said for reliabilty the fiber optic whips would be the best. it's extremly flexable and only had one light shooting up inside it. If you go night riding this really are a must. so far riding the hell out of them hasn't been the problem with mine. it was when I kept beating the hell out of it with the lems. I still don't know what happen to roys this weekend I think that was  just a lemon, So if anybody has any input I'm all ears.

yeah that the guy I talked to today. the fiber optic he said just has the one light shooting up and it much more flexable. might be real good one to get.

seems like too much to me, figuring I will be rolling it here and there.

Buy the led's on ebay separately pre wired. 100 of them for 10-20 bucks. 10mm led's too. run a wire up your whip and wire them in. I will be trying that approach.

go here. the whip can take a beating and it is so bright. http://www.tmwoffroad.com/product.sc?productId=263&categoryId=-1
I have 2 red white and blue flags and love them for night riding. they come with a quick mount that you can run your regular flag in the day and switch to the lighted one at night.

Frog, Im doing some major research on these right now for us on a group buy. I agree we need to stay away from the design you have. I did find yours on the net for $60 and I can get them for us for $42, but it's not worth the 15minutes they last. I've been talking to the guy at safeglow, arizonawhips, sidebyside whips, racewerks, livewire whips, and a couple of others that are using each others design. I'm trying to find the most reliable design for the best cost possible. I'm also goio see what I can do about making one and then giving out the design details that way everybody can make one for cheap. I think I can make one myself for under $25. I'll go do work.

I didn't even realize anybody posted responses. The tribal whip sucks, I watched 2 of them go to waste this weekend from  simple wind and riding...no tree smacks. I really like the fiber whip and Im going to see what I can do about getting us a discount, they are made by a guy right here in Tulsa.
