Twist throttle setup
« on: October 24, 2010, 10:48:59 PM »
Finally gave up on wrecking my thumb & have put a twist throttle kit on the bike.
Like the feel far better than the thumb lever (have ridden 2 wheelers all my life) but the throttle is very light.
Has anyone else found this, & what did you do to give it a heavier throttle spring setup?
The only thing I can see to do is to seperate the carbs, pull the throttle butterfly out of the spindle, & then wind it up another turn or so of preload.

Any suggestions?

(Yes, yes I know twist is dangerous blah blah blah)
I want to hear from someone who has done it, & what they did (if there is anyone out there willing to share that is)

Thanks

Ive got the Moose Brand dual throttle setup, that has the lockout twist feature. Mine has a great feel to it. Feels nearly identical to my YZ450F. Be careful in the woods with that twist throttle. These quads are so torquey, the twist throttle can and WILL buck you off without warning. lol
