Here's a little info for you Ford Fans:
http://www.fordvehicles.com/asp/modules/the2010mustang/pdf/OrderGuide.pdf
2010 Mustang V6: 210 hp V8: 315 hp
I'm suprised they didn't bump the horsepower on the V6 and V8 since the Camaro coming has 300 hp on their 6 cylinder model and 422 horsepower on the V8.
The Challenger is 250hp on the V6, 325hp on the 5.7L V8, and 425hp on the 5.7L V8.

Ford doesn't release too many figures on production numbers on the Mustang. I read somewhere on MustangHeaven that that's the reason some of the figures haven't been updated since 2005.
Dodge doesn't release figures on the Viper either. It's easy to figure out though by VIN number on the first and last production car for the year. I figured the number on RK's dad's car and I think his was the 61st vert built for 2008. Dodge builds a little over 1000 Viper coupes and 500 convertibles per year.
Chevrolet releases their production numbers for Corvette. They even break it down by color and options.
2008 Production numbers
Coupe: 15927
Convertible: 6166
Z06: 5779

That's what I like about the old cars. Like Dodge, they released all their prod numbers based on model, color, manual/auto, what kind of tires ect... Pretty cool..
Like a 69 Super bee w/ a 426 Hemi... only 166 8)

I don't know why Ford has to be so secretive, hell you see a Mustang on every corner so you know they build a shit load of them.
Thanks for the Superbee factoid.....I learned something new today!

Sounds awesome in stock trim!
-
It does. It's just an imporved version of the current model. I would expect more, but Ford just refined the previous model.

I think I'd rather buy a new Z than a mustang

The new Z is much improved. I watched the test on that too. Quick little ride.

unless they bring out something like the 03-04 cobra, i have no interest in mustangs anymore
-
They do have something like that. It's called the GT500....It's overpriced, too heavy, and won't hookup.

thats not near what the 03-04 cobra was. you dont get what i mean

The GT500 is the closest thing to the Cobra made today. It churns out more horsepower than the Cobra, and is a much better car overall. The Cobra was equipped with a 390hp engine, but rumor has it the car was under rated, and actual produced 415 hp. Today's GT500 produces 500 horspower, with a ton of suspension goodies. It's more car than the Cobra, thus the price difference.

Except the cobra actually attempted to upgrade the suspension to deal with the increased power, and the GT500 still runs on a wagon axle.
A turned up supercharger isn't worth the price premium, the cobra was a better value.

no not at all.
the 03-04 cobra is the supra of the v-8 world. the same canot be said about the gt500

All Mustangs are still on wagon axles....I'm suprised Ford hasn't went a different direction with the GT500 by giving it IRS like the 1999-2004 Cobra had. IRS is not the choice for guys running straight lines, but it sure makes the curves nice.
