Stage 3 is complete. Piston, cam, and springs.
« on: September 07, 2008, 07:38:36 PM »
Well just got done with 3rd heat cycles and the beast is alive and ticking well.

I did a wiesco 11:1 stock bore, Stage 2 hotcam and springs.  I did my own P&P, I would say it is more like a gasket match and opened the exhaust ports up a bit.

Nothing was to hard, the annoying parts were getting the piston pin out and setting the damn valve lash.      All in all went pretty good.

Now to get up in the morning and take it to the dyno shop to get jetted and dyno'd.
Gonna be stupid you better be tuff.

wont be a video....  They called today and said no go on the dyno.  They said the clutch needs replaced as it is slipping trying to do the dyno pulls.    SUCKS bad.  Now to come up with 283 bucks for replacement....

This may kill my trip to the dunes..   Not a good monday.

Hey racinjason. ANy news? If so, I hope it is good. Clutch isn't too bad to replace.

Remember, If you go, smooth out those dunes for me. :grin_nod:

You might have been kidding about the double clutching but i read somewhere that somebody said that some quads you have to double clutch and i just thought to my self that that is totally impossible am i correct or not?  What i think of double clutching is when you pull the clutch shift to neutral let out the clutch then pull the clutch again and shift to the next gear then let out the clutch, is that correct?

I can not see why you would ever have to double clutch a quad....  I was talking about shifting and then clutching again to "rev and dump"  causing the bike to throw a bit of extra sand....    I wanted him to get a face full about mid track.  LOL
