Your killin me on the HDDs Randy!
Notice the Bolded 1TB, that was for you shawn

If it were external I would buy it.

I'm just kinda afraid about compatibility with my current stuff. I'm pretty savy on this computer stuff, but just get scared about compatibility. Also this whole RAID talk Im kinda lost. I've got a WD250 now on a ASUS a8n32 MB.

Buy that HDD and then this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817388018

BAM. External Hard drive.

The one I'm looking at would be 20 bucks more then that route, but 1.5 TB

A friend of mine bought one of those external hard drives at Walmart.

It crashed.

I told him to buy another one, and replace the drive out of the other to get his info he had stored off of it.

That worked. He bought one, swapped the drives, and got his info off. He returned the bad unit, and got a refund.

from personal experiance E. I'd shy away from those WD MyBooks, I had one and my work had one hooked to our shared device. Both systems mine and works would hang on reboot. Only way XP would start up is with the hard drive disconnected from the USB port.. It's not a HUGe deal, but kind of a PITA.

Those are the two pre-built ones I'd recommend. Not a brand specific. But great reviews.

I'd honestly suggest buying a good quality hard drive, and a separate enclosure. IMO. Same price and some peace of mind.

Erich, I would be careful of that HHD. Three reviews of two starts. Go to new egg and sort external hard drives but most reviews. There is a 1TB external HHD for 89 dollars and has a 116 reviews of 4 stars.

Randy, what would it take to get the eSAT working? Is'nt it kinda pointless getting a badass HDD and bottle necking it down to a USB 2.0?

If your Motherboard doesn't have ESata builtin, your best option is a PCI-E E-sata card. fairly cheap, 35-40ish
