Title: A friends 450... Need help with jetting
Post by: Livingmylife93 on October 14, 2008, 05:32:16 PM
He doesnt understand the whole idea of jetting.

He now has a full Yoshimura exhaust and some type of aftermarket foam filter. Its a 2007.

Tell me everything that he needs to buy.

And then all the settings i will need to do when i do it for him. Like how many turns on the mixture screw and the clip postition and stuff.

He says it just has no power now that he put the filter on.

Thanks guys, its much appreciated.
I need to get him riding again :D

The lid is on.

And he has NEVER jetted the bike, so its still the stock jets.

I would say...

170-175 main...
45 pilot...
2 - 2 1/2 on air screw....

Should be pretty Close there...

go to yamaha get the dirt bike needle. 170-170 main and 45 pilot.i put a 35 leak jet in mine.9 dollars at yamaha.like the other guys are saying hit up yfztech or yfz central their are tons of jetting threads.it is pretty easy take the carb off and take the bottom off and thier are ur jets.main is the hex looking jet. and the pilot u are gona have to have a small screw driver to remove.also ur gona have to turn the air screw out a bit or that thing is gona pop and sputter and back fire all the time.it takes some time yfz's are real touchy but when u get it right they run their balls off...
