my buddy and i where riding down a gravel road and he was ahead of me and throwing rocks back. well one hit my radiator just right and punched a hole in it. what should i do....
1) call the dealership and see if it's covered on warranty?
2) call the dealership and buy a new one?
3) take it to work with me and try to TIG weld the broken vein?
4) take it to a radiator shop?
what do you guys think?
1 and 2 shoud not have even crossed your mind  I'm not sure I'd prolly call a radiator shop and see what they say..
I would take it to a radiator shop and see what it will cost.

you used to fix radiators or you used to get them fixed?
and i called 2 different dealerships. apparently you have to buy the fan and radiator all together and the one dealership said it would be $471 and the other said it would be $504 ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) damnit i thought they would be cheaper. does anyone make a good aftermarket one for cheaper then this?
PWR
PWR5494 Raptor 700 06-08 $449

Hopefully yours is fixable or check with a sponsor for a better price.
I would also consider a used one from ebay or a forum member.

I don't think you have anything to worry about Warren, I bet it can be fixed for cheap if you find the right repair man ???

I was going to sugest the PWR radiator. They are a GOOD company that makes larger radiator that is suppose to drop the temps 10* or so. I would buy that before a stocker any day. First I would try to have it fixed for cheap.
Definitely call a radiator shop.
Your repair costs would be minimal vs. replacing it with a new one.
Second, invest in a radiator grill cover. I spent $20.00 on the one I bought.

No, I found a PWR from a sponsor with a better price
warren, call the repair shop like these guys are saying. Takes ten minutes to get radiator out and take it in. I bet it can be fixed for way less than half of buying a new one. We used to get them done for $75 depending on the severity of the problem.
or...just stick some chewed bubble gum on the hole  j/k
take it too a shop, and get you a guard.
i have the pwr radiator, deff an improvement over stock
i had to get one because i was in the same boat as you

Could you be more specific about the PWR's efficiencies ???
yeah i did have my radiator gaurd on. and a rock still managed to get in there. but i am going to get some stainless steel mess from work and zip tie to it. the mess has about 1/4 inch holes in it so it should flow good and it will be plenty strong. i don't care if it looks alittle :fruity: i won't be having this problem again.
and i did take it to a shop yesterday. they told me it should be an easy fix for easily less then $50. so that good news. i should have it back by monday.
crack an egg and put it in there ! that will stop the leak
no really i saw it on mythbuster

I saw that too
to be honest, i don't notice too much of a difference except my fan very rarely comes on, you can just tell its made of thicker metal and looks alot higher quality, the only reason i bought it was because it was cheaper than a stock one but if my stock rad was still good would not have bought it and would not really recommend it (unless you have a crazy modded quad)
yeah i got the rad. fixed. it looks like shit and it cost me $20 to have this guy fix but whatever it's fixed. well that's what he said i havn't had a chance to put it on and try it out yet.
$20  The price is right
yeah this shit better not leak either or i'll be pissed.
Crack an Egg? ???
And good to hear it's fixed Warren!!! Can't beat $20
Warren - Do you have a pic of the rad after the fix?

you guys are hilarious.
for those who asked no i didn't get a pic of the radiator. i wanted to but i got home and got carried away putting it in before i remembered to. and with my new grill that i made at work you can't even really see it. but to the best of my knowledge it's not leaking any. i hope it stays that way too.
